E-Girişim News: Holacon — A Local Platform Managing Events End-to-End

Holacon is a local startup that enables events of different scales and categories to be managed end-to-end, while also providing participants with an interactive event experience.

Holacon, as an event management system, includes more than 20 content tools. If we briefly group these tools under main categories, they can be defined under 6 titles: Operations Management, Registration Management, Accommodation and Transfer Management, Event Content Management and Marketing, Website and Mobile Application, Integration and Reporting Service.

Holacon was founded in September 2017 by Arzu Begüm Taştan, Mustafa Özkan Taştan, Kemal Taha Taştan, and Muhammed Fethullah Çaylı. The parent company of Holacon is Internative Software and Digital Solutions, headquartered in Istanbul and London. After nearly one year of development, Holacon began operating in December 2018.

A Product Ready for the Global Market: Holacon

On the mobile application side, Holacon offers many features for participants. Events can be viewed and registered through the app, invitations received via email can be accessed, and if users allow their profiles to be visible, other participants can visit these profiles, send messages, and schedule appointments. Participants can also create a contact list before and after the event to stay connected with other users long term.

Within the application, there are also social hubs categorized as Announcements, Event Memories, Business Network, Introduce Yourself, Ask the Organizer, and Lost and Found. The team plans to add new features within the next year, initially focusing on improving user experience. Additionally, we were informed that the Holacon infrastructure was developed to be compatible with the global market.

In a statement from the founders, they said:

“Holacon is a startup capable of representing Turkey in the global market with its infrastructure, technology, and solutions. It is a much more comprehensive and flexible software than its competitors abroad. Turkey is one of the important countries in the congress and events sector. Many events are held every year in different areas. The event industry contains many manual processes, costs, and steps where mistakes are likely to occur. With this product, we aim to reduce the damages caused by errors and costs to zero.”

The Value Proposition of the Startup

When we asked the founders about the value proposition of the startup, they replied:

“We have several competitors abroad, but they are not present in the Turkish market. However, the search volume and demand from Turkey is quite high. If we list their names: Idloom, Meetinghands, Whova, Cvent, and SocialTables. Holacon is a product that combines the capabilities of all these platforms and is designed to comply with Turkish event standards and to solve problems under complex operational conditions.

Locally, there are products offering similar solutions, but they are not cloud-based; you need to purchase and install them for each event. For example, you need one software for event registration and another separate mobile application, and they are not sustainable. Holacon stands out with its infrastructure, technology, and interface, offering end-to-end solutions without the need for additional tools. It enables events to be carried out continuously and allows comparison with previous years. With Holacon, you also gain the operational memory of your events.”
